Causes of Strokes
Stroke is a condition that occurs when the blood supply to the brain is disrupted due to a blockage (ischemic stroke) or rupture of a blood vessel (hemorrhagic stroke). This causes areas of the brain to not receive oxygen and nutrients, resulting in the death of brain cells. For this reason, fast treatment is needed to save the life of someone who has had a stroke. One way to detect early stroke symptoms is with the FAST method.
FAST method
1. Face Dropping (Asymmetrical face) The position of the face appears asymmetrical (dominant to one side), or sudden numbness of the entire face and difficulty swallowing.
2. Arm Weakness (Arm Weakness) The arm feels weak or unable to reach the same level as the other arm.
3 .Speech Difficulty (Difficulty Speaking) Sudden speech impairment is one of the typical symptoms of stroke.
4. Time (Time to Call for Help) Contacting medical personnel to immediately take them to the nearest hospital is the most important way to save the victim's life. Grha Kedoya Hospital Emergency Room (021) 29910999.
