Great Eastern Life and EMC Healthcare Collaborate to Launch GREATHealth+ EMC (Sharing Between Payors)

South Tangerang, November 21, 2024 Great Eastern Life Indonesia together with EMC Healthcare today launched the innovative GREATHealth+ EMC Sharing program between BPJS Kesehatan Payors , the latest solution to optimize health insurance benefits for customers. This collaboration was marked by the signing of an agreement by Jusup Halimi, President Director of EMC Healthcare , Nina Ong, President Director of Great Eastern Life Indonesia , and Muhammad Nasrun Ihsan, Marketing Director of PT Administrasi Medika at the Auditorium of EMC Alam Sutera Hospital.

The GREATHealth+ EMC program aims to provide convenience for customers in utilizing the dual benefits of BPJS Kesehatan and Great Eastern Life Indonesia. With a cost sharing mechanism, customers can enjoy health services efficiently, reduce cost burdens, and still get high-quality medical care.

Currently, the healthcare industry is facing major challenges with increasing health claims, one of which is due to the medical inflation trend triggered by technological developments. According to Mercer Marsh Benefits 2024 data, medical inflation in Indonesia is projected to reach 13%, higher than the Asian average of 11.4%.

Medical technology, while essential for improving the quality of care and saving lives, is also a major factor driving up medical costs. Advanced medical equipment, such as robotics for precision surgery or cutting-edge diagnostic devices, often come with high prices and add to hospitals’ costs.

"As a hospital partner of Great Eastern Life Indonesia, EMC Healthcare has helped provide the best service for all PT Great Eastern Life Indonesia health insurance participants and ensured that patients are treated properly in order to improve the quality of medical services and treatment outcomes and avoid more expensive treatment alternatives or consequences of more expensive health costs," said Jusup Halimi, President Director of EMC Healthcare . Then he stated, "Of course, this proper treatment must also be supported by a reduction in medical costs that are possible to do, for that reason EMC Healthcare and Great Eastern Life Indonesia launched this Sharing Antar Payor program."

The GREATHealth+ EMC program is valid in seven EMC group hospitals, namely: EMC Alam Sutera Hospital, EMC Cibitung Hospital, EMC Cikarang Hospital, EMC Pekayon Hospital, EMC Pulomas Hospital, EMC Sentul Hospital, and EMC Tangerang Hospital. In this program, BPJS Kesehatan acts as the first payor , while Great Eastern Life Indonesia is the second payor .

In addition, the collaboration includes the implementation of a pilot project of Clinical Pathway , a referral procedure based on quality and cost control that ensures care is in accordance with medical standards without burdening patients with additional costs. Clinical Pathway will also use a technology-based system to monitor claims and ensure transparent cost efficiency.

Nina Ong, President Director of Great Eastern Life Indonesia , added, “We are committed to presenting innovations that provide real benefits to customers. With GREATHealth+ EMC , we want to help customers reduce the burden of health costs without reducing the quality of medical care, so they can focus on living their lives peacefully and achieving their aspirations. So Great, Reach for Great .

Muhammad Nasrun Ihsan, Marketing Director of PT Administrasi Medika said, "AdMedika as a partner of Great Eastern Life Indonesia and EMC Group, welcomes this good program with enthusiasm, in addition to AdMedika has collaborated with provider partners to serve BPJS Top Up guarantees. AdMedika understands that the need for quality and affordable health services is increasing. This is certainly a concern for AdMedika to produce solutions that can accommodate market needs". Nasrun closed his speech with a commitment that AdMedika and Great Eastern Life together strive to provide the best service for Great Eastern Life Indonesia insurance participants through this Sharing Antar Payor program.

This collaboration demonstrates the commitment of Great Eastern Life Indonesia and EMC Healthcare to create a better health ecosystem, by optimizing medical technology wisely and sustainably, thus providing greater benefits to customers throughout Indonesia.
