The Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Mensos RI) Tri Rismaharini visited a baby patient with anal atresia at the EMC Sentul Hospital, Babakanmadang District, Bogor Regency.
The patient is a resident of Sukabumi, West Java, who has a congenital defect since birth because he does not have a human waste disposal hole or anus.
Social Minister Risma said that the four-month-old baby known as Acil had to use an artificial waste disposal channel to dispose of his digestive waste. So far, the patient has been assisted by a colostomy in his intestinal opening to remove his waste.
Risma said that the patient is currently in good health and will undergo his first surgery tonight with the assistance of a charity foundation. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Leo Rendy, Sp.B (K) Ped (Pediatric Surgeon Specialist at EMC Sentul Hospital).
With this assistance, he said, all costs will be fully covered by the institution.
Such actions require at least four operations and many of them cannot be covered by BPJS. So with this assistance, it is hoped that patients can be covered until they function normally.
In addition, Risma said that this assistance was greatly needed by the families of patients who were categorized as underprivileged.
In addition to medical assistance, the patient's family has also been given business assistance.
